We assess other Local Authority residents if they present within BANES, but we will also go outside of BANES to follow our own residents.

Who we are:

In Bath and North East Somerset (BANES), Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) services are part of an integrated arrangement between the BANES Council and the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP).

The AMHP role considers requests for Mental Health Act assessments and whether the individual will require admission to hospital for treatment of their mental health if they are at risk.

How long this form will take to complete:

The form should take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You can save the form and return to it later via your portal account.

The duty worker will call you back to discuss the referral; the referral will not proceed any further until this discussion has been held.

If the duty worker has not called within an hour during office hours (9am-5pm Monday-Thursday, 9am-4.30pm Friday) or before 11am the following working day of the referral being sent, please call 01225 362778
